Board recruitment information

Thank you for your interest in joining the CLRS Board.

Community Living & Respite Services (CLRS) is a community not for profit organisation, founded in 1979 to provide disability support and residential services in the Echuca region. In 2021/2022 CLRS had a revenue of $14.7 million, supported 403 clients, employed 159 staff and is supported by 100 volunteers.

CLRS is a registered provider with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and with the Victorian Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH). This ensures CLRS has safeguarding of clients, good governance and robust systems as a strong focus in our organisation.

CLRS is a values-based organisation and is seeking community minded people with integrity and an understanding of corporate governance to express interest in joining our Board.

These positions provide an exciting opportunity to volunteer your skills and expertise to support the strategic leadership of disability support services in our local community. Our key 2021-2024 strategies include delivering safe, effective, connected and collaborative service with every person, every time.

Board members are expected to:

  • attend at least 6 meetings a year, with meetings occurring monthly

  • serve on at least one subcommittee of the board

  • responsibly represent CLRS to their respective communities and advocate for CLRS’ vision and services as appropriate

It is anticipated that a commitment of 3 – 4 hours per month is required including meeting time. All Board work, including meetings, can be completed remotely.

Board terms last for 3 years and Board members can serve for up to 3 consecutive terms.

All applications will be considered, however, the Board would particularly welcome applicants with lived experience of disability, as well as applications from those with diverse cultural backgrounds.

To submit an expression of interest, or for more information, contact Gillian Noelker – Executive Assistant on 03 5480 2388 or email ea@clrs.org.au
