Our Opening Doors Project helps people who require assistance 24 hours a day – we use innovative technology and housing solutions to enable a more independent life.
We have recently completed building our Moama Opening Doors Project in Maiden Street Moama. This is our third Opening Doors Project and will provide accommodation for 5 people in total. The home and 2 units have been built to the highest standard of the Liveable Housing Standards. Accessibility and comfort are key design features.
In 2019 we purchased a block of land in Barry Street Echuca and construction of our fourth Opening Doors Project will get underway in 2021.

Project Management - RFQ
Community Living & Respite Services (CLRS) is seeking the services of a suitably qualified and experienced principal consultant to provide project management services to guide the design and construction of specialist disability accommodation in Echuca Moama.
CLRS currently provides Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) in the Echuca/Moama region. CLRS has 13 registered SDA properties in this area. These properties consist of 6 single dwelling units and 7 houses.
CLRS purchased a block of land at 32 Barry Street Echuca in 2019 on which to develop the next project. The land is approximately 1000m2.
This Opening Doors Project will be the fourth project of this kind undertaken by CLRS. All previous projects have developed a house for at least 3 residents and 2 single dwelling units on one site. These projects have been developed at:
- Minor Street Echuca – completed June 2014
- Eyre Street Echuca – completed October 2017
- Maiden St Moama – completed January 2020
The most recent Opening Doors Project identified that there is high demand for single unit dwellings for SDA for people with disability. It is proposed to design and construct purpose built single units, with overnight support, on the site at 32 Barry Street Echuca.
CLRS is now seeking the services of a suitably qualified and experienced Principal Consultant to provide project management services to guide the design and construction of this next project at Barry St, Echuca.

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) Vacancies
Community Living & Respite Services has a vacancy in a one bedroom unit, which is registered as an SDA property.
One of the attractions of this one bedroom unit is it’s proximity to local amenities like public transport, shops and sporting grounds. The following factors should be considered if you are interested in applying
- The applicant is aged 18 years or over and able to live independent with daily supports if required. No overnight staff facilities available.
- The applicant is eligible for and is able to secure an appropriate level of SDA NDIS funding.
- Building type for this house is Villa/Townhouse.
- Design category for this house is Improved Liveability.
- The applicant has the financial means to pay rent and utilities and is prepared to sign (or for a representative to sign) a residential agreement.
